Join us on zoom Wednesday, July 21st from 6:00pm to 7:00pm to learn what it means to drink bird-friendly coffee. There is no shortage of labels and phrases to attract environmentally-conscious consumers: "'organic', '"shade-grown", "sustainable", yet very few coffees have earned the Smithsonian's bird-friendly certification. In this Coffee Lab, Justine Bowe from The Smithsonian Migratory Bird Center and Dr. Chase D. Mendenhall from the Carnegie Museum of Natural History will discuss how the "Bird-Friendly" gold standard does more than other eco-friendly seals to protect habitat, and the importance of preserving endangered species and natural habitats.
