Projects Overview

While continuing to foster our special relationship with Nueva Esperanza, and neighboring communities in the lower Bajo Lempa region of Usulutan of El Salvador, Building New Hope develops and supports a variety of ongoing projects in Nicaragua in the areas of education, health and development.

Education: Our educational programs include scholarships for young people, outfitting high school chemistry labs and conducting career development and skills training workshops for at-risk youth. In addition, we operate two barrio schools, a community library, and a reading-in-the-schools program.

Health: Building New Hope hosts delegations of medical professionals to rural communities, has provided or found emergency medical care for critically ill young people, and offers nutritional meals through our educational programs. We also operate an animal clinic to help control the local stray animal population in Granada, Nicaragua, utilizing the expertise of visiting veterinarians.

Development:  Through the marketing of their coffee, we help rural families remain on their land and reinvest in their communities.
